Week 9 - Final Presentation
Today was our last week to participate in the Virtual Environments module in Second Life. It is weird that this journey has finally come to an end. I have to admit that it was one of my favourite classes to be a part of. It was certainly different that the rest and because of that, the class was really enjoyable and interesting. It is nice to talk about current issues and events for a change and to listen to the opinions of others. It is not something you get to do very often. I would certainly love to take part in this class again!
During this week’s class, we all presented our views and findings on the evolving #MeToo campaign. It was incredible to see what other had come up with and to see their take on the topic. It was clear that everyone worked very hard on the project and I was very pleased with my team. We all worked together and managed to get it done on time. We had no problems other than the challenge of not seeing each other outside of Second Life. However, we managed to overcome that challenge in the end and I’m glad with the outcome.
Surprisingly when we started the class, Lana and I decided that we would go first to present our Powerpoint. Looking back on my first post on this blog, I remember how terrified I was to use the microphone in Second Life but in order to do the presentation we had no choice but to use. I was surprised at how easy it was. I wasn’t nervous at all. I think that it was the idea of using the voice to put myself out there that was really holding me back all this time. I’m proud of myself that I was able to overcome this fear that I had in me when starting my journey in Second Life. Better late than never!
